NOON 'reserve' Shiraz 2013 (latest cult release)

Grapes for the Reserve wines are sourced from a l.6 hectare 50-yr-old+ Langhorne Creek vineyard that is cropped at three/tonnes per acre. Everything here is produced by hand and as natural as possible, with open ferments & basket pressing. The Reserve Shiraz is aged in a mix of French & USA oak barrels (40% new) for 18-months.
The sugar levels in all the grapes at maturity this year (2013) were high, resulting in wines that are rich, ripe and full of flavour, with a generous but well-structured personality.

The Wine Advocate (Lisa Perrotti-Brown) – Rated 97 Points
“Medium to deep garnet/purple, the Shiraz Reserve has a youthfully mute nose exuding crushed blackberries and wild blueberries dotted with notes of cloves, pepper and anise. Big, voluptuous and full-bodied in the mouth, it has tons of spice, black fruit and savory flavors that are shaped by firm, grainy tannins and a long finish.” Drink 2017-2032 Issue #220 August 2015.

The Wine Spectator (Harvey Steiman) – Rated 94 Points
“Dark and dense, with expressive flavors of licorice-accented dried blueberry and dark chocolate that slide enticingly into a long, ripe finish. Drink now through 2025.”
